Nepal is every wanderlust’s dream destination. It makes its way to the bucket list of all adventure seekers. It appeals to everyone who wishes to expand their horizons through travel. The Boudhanath Temple, on the other hand, is a beautiful dome-shaped structure surrounded by prayer flags and has stood as a symbol of peace, prayer, and beauty and is a pilgrimage site to Buddhists the world over. Its history dates back to the 5th century AD and is said to enshrine Kassapa Buddha’s relics.
The medieval architecture with exquisite wooden carvings and metal craft in the pagoda style temples in Bhaktapur and the historic town of Patan, which has 55 major temples and 136 monasteries and is known the world over for its spectacular paintings. Nepal is shrouded in the mystique that reverberates in the ancient tradition that has passed from one generation to the next in the form of the Kumari, or the Living Goddess. Regarded as a Living Goddess, each year, a Newar girl represents the Goddess Taleju and is worshiped by all. Even the monarchs come to receive her blessings. This tradition dates back to the 17th century and is a wonder to behold anywhere in the world. While in the heart of the country, indulge in cultural tours, dig into some sumptuous culinary wonders, meditate and collect some rare and exotic memorabilia to bring home.
Geographically, about 75% of Nepal’s land is made up of mountains, making it a delight for nature lovers. Just on the outskirts of the bustling city of Kathmandu, you can be mesmerized by the jaw-dropping beauty of Pokhara lake, which lays down as a perfect mirror to the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna Range. Apart from the tranquility that Pokahara offers, it also opens the door of adventure ajar. It is the gateway to trekking expeditions to the Annapurna Range. Pokhara quite literally gives you wings, and you can experience paragliding, parahawking, zip flying, skydiving, canyoning, or try bungee jumping. If you wish to explore some historical aspects of this place, drop by the Gurkha Memorial Museum and the Regional Museum that displays this country’s history and culture or even consider visiting the Annapoorna Butterfly Museum treasure trove of nature’s bounty. Apart from the Pokhara lake and the Annapurna Mountain Range, The Davis Falls, Begnas Lake, Rupa Lake, the Mahendra Cave, and the Basundhara Park are equally picturesque. You will most certainly be left mesmerized with the amount of generosity that Nature has bestowed on this enchanted Kingdom. If wildlife is your calling, a visit to the Chitwan National Park is highly recommended. This is the perfect place for wildlife, from the Royal Bengal Tiger, Greater one-horned rhinoceros to Asiatic elephants and gharials. Extending for over 932 sq. kilometers, this is the most well-preserved conservation area in Asia, and a safari with your family will certainly leave you awestruck. Nepal has seen a constant rise in trekkers worldwide due to the Himalayan trekking trails, which take you to some of the most beautiful places in the world. A trek through the Sherpa valleys is often associated with a mix of spiritual, cultural, and memorable experiences as you pass glorious views, one after the other, all along the way. From the treks in the Manaslu, Upper Mustang, Annapurna to the highest peak, Mount Everest, Nepal has become a premier destination for trekkers worldwide. This Himalayan Kingdom is a cultural and spiritual cauldron where you most certainly will be able to taste the elixir of life.
