The tip of the Indian Subcontinent is the jewel in the crown

A coral-fringed reef with the whitest of white coral sand that sifts as you walk on them. Deep blue lagoons with an exciting world below the pristine waters and the lines of the palm fronds make the Maldives an epitome of escapism.  Lying at the tip of the Indian Subcontinent, this is the jewel in the crown.  At 700 kilometers southwest of Sri Lanka, this low-lying coral reef is a hermitage of people wishing to experience the exotic oriental paradise.

Atolls with soft sands and rich underwater fauna

The Maldives is composed of 26 atolls. Fuvamulha in the southern archipelago being the smallest atoll with only 4.5 kilometers of width, and Gaafu is the largest atoll spanning 3152 square kilometers. In all likelihood, these are likely reminiscences of a chain of sunken volcanoes formed around 60 million years ago. It is this that makes the Maldives an exotic archipelago.  A tropical paradise with salt in the air and love for the waters is the only language that transcends the soul. Furthermore, the sand is coralline, making the beaches picture perfect. Candlelight dinners with the tastiest of the wines, romantic barefoot strolls along the beaches, and the clear skies above lighted up with a million stars, and the waters sparkling with the planktons that light up in the night make this island a dream destination.
